Laura Mercier Sleek And Chic Eye Colour Palette: First Impression & Swatches

As part of Laura Mercier's 2015 holiday collection, Laura has released an eyeshadow palette that contains 12 eyeshadows. These shades are all hand picked by Laura to create the perfect sleek and chic eye looks. This palette leans slightly more warm-toned with a mix of matte, sateen and lustre finishes.

At first glance, I think the colour range is very well put together and it looks like the perfect palette for fall, every colour in here just screams fall. You get some lighter shades to highlight, a few mid-tone shades for the crease, a variety of lid shades and some matte dark shades to deepen your looks.

Based on the Laura Mercier website, 7 of 12 shadows in this palette are from their permanent range, whilst the others are limited editions. The limited edition shades are Cedar, Bronze Glow, Espresso Bean, Cherrywood and Plumifique. Here are the swatches:

Stellar (Sateen): Neutral champagne with silver shimmer
Ginger (Matte): Light neutral peach
Bamboo (Lustre): Bronze brown
Cedar (Lustre): Copper
Bronze Glow (Lustre): Golden bronze
Espresso Bean (Matte): Deep chocolate brown

Morning Dew (Matte):  Light neural pink
Cashmere (Matte): Medium pink brown
African Violet (Lustre): Violet copper shimmer
Cherrywood (Lustre): Reddish brown
Plumifique (Lustre): Plum with slight gold shimmers
Noir (Matte): Deepest black

The star of this palette has to be Bronze Glow, it is the most metallic out of all. The formula is very consistent across the board, most of the shades have great colour payoff and I'm surprised how well the matte shades performed. They are all easy to work with, very blendable and last around 8 hours on my eyes without creasing or fading.

The packaging is very sturdy and travel friendly, it has magnetic closure with a good size mirror in it. It is pretty much identical to their previous palettes except for the print on the outside. This year's print is very vibrant and fiery and remains the same across the whole collection.

Sleek And Chic Eye Colour Palette is definitely another great palette to add to your collection. It is so versatile, you could do an everyday look with it or a sexy smokey look. If you skipped/missed out on the previous Artist's Palette for Eyes, make sure you check out this year's one, because I think this might just be slightly better.

Available now at David Jones in-store and online for $75 AUD.

What do you think of this year's Laura Mercier holiday collection? Is this palette be on your wishlist too?
