Winter colours - we always think about shades like grey, navy and deep purple. The Essie Winter 2016 Collection has not only brought us some gorgeous dark shades, but also some pretty pastels that compliment our cozy outfits.
I don't own a whole lot of polishes from Essie, I think I only had 2-3 bottles before receiving this collection, but I am already falling head over heels for their formula. They are fast drying and with a top coat, they last around 2 weeks on my nails before they start chipping.
Another thing I'm crazy about is the pigmentation - all you need is just 2 coats to get an opaque finish. Yep, even the pale pink called Peak Show. My absolute favourite has to be Virgin Snow, it's a stunning periwinkle colour and I love to pair it with the shade, Apres-chic - it is hands down the best silver polish I've tried (you will see in the swatches below).
Essie's nail polishes all come with a wider brush, which I personally LOVE! I find that it helps to apply the polish evenly, coats more of the nail surface and gets the job done at a faster rate.
Altitude Attitude - Elevated sublime scarlet
A mid-tone yellow based red that is great to wear everyday. It adds a little pop of colour to any outfit.
Shall We Chalet? - Seductive ruby
Two reds in one collection? This red is completely different from the previous one. It is deeper and more blue undertone.

Virgin Snow - Icy frozen lavender
Apres-chic - Iconic platinum
My favourite combo to wear the two shades. Look how reflective that silver is! I'm a sucker for lavender shades like this, I think it looks flattering all year round.

Haute Tub - jet black with amethyst fire
I'm sorry, this photo does not do it justice. When the light hits, you can see the purple micro glitter running through it - just WOW. I hope you can see it in the product photos above.
Peak Show - scenic powder pink
This is probably the most pigment pale pink polish I've come across. The colour is borderline white with a tiny hint of pink. If stark white polish looks a little harsh on your nails, definitely try a soft shade like this.
This is really rare case but there is not one shade that I don't like in this collection (usually there are one or two duds). For a limited time, it is now available at Priceline until the end of August, each retails for $16.95 AUD.
What do you think of the winter collection? Will you be picking up any of the shades? Which one is your favourite?
