What To Get During Sephora AU Black Friday Sale?

So I'm sure all of you have seen the ads or heard about the Black Friday sale happening at Sephora AU tomorrow (yes 25th Friday). It is ONLY going to be a one-day sale and you get 20% off everything in store and online - super exciting!

If you don't have your wishlist ready, don't worry, I've got your back! Below I have included some products that I think are worth checking out during the sale:

For face, I've been really enjoying the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation (RRP $67) for days when I go to events. It's lightweight and makes your skin look so flawless in photos! As for an everyday base, the Your Skin But Better CC Cream with SPF 50+ (RRP $58) from It Cosmetics is my go-to. You know I'm obsessed with this. I'm on my second tube now and it is my must have in the cold winter.

Even though I have dry skin, I usually like to set my makeup with powder to remove the tackiness and prolong the wear of my base. Two that I have been alternating in between are the HD Compact Powder 6.2g (RRP $53) and Bye Bye Pores Pressed (RRP $44). They are both in a compact form, which is much more convenient to use compared to loose powder. I love how finely milled they are and they make my skin look so smooooooooth!

I must say, the 20% off sale is the time to splurge on some high end products that you have been lusting for so long. The Marc Jacobs Air Blush (RRP $39) is probably one that has been sitting on the top of your list. They have a unique "air-whipped" texture that gives you a soft glow. Just too pretty to say no to!

The Tarte A mazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush (RRP $38) is a cult favorite for good reasons. Very long lasting, soft and easy to blend. They are available in a range of different shades and finishes. My personal favorites have to be Exposed and Natural Beauty. Tarte also launched their Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Highlighter (RRP $38) this year, which gives the cheeks a light warm golden sheen. Perfect for those who like a moderate glow for every day.

Now, I can't not throw in some products from my favorite brand, Becca. Their Shim mering Skin Perfector Pressed (RRP $60) is a MUST if you don't own any. They are all you need for a beautiful intense highlight. So bright, people can see your cheekbones from across the street! They have also released a new blush formula earlier this year - the Shimmering Skin Perfector™ Luminous Blush (RRP $53). They are very pigmented, creamy smooth and as the name suggests - luminous! The Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette $89 is also still available for purchase in case you are wondering. To me, this palette is a collector's piece, including some limited edition shades and a stunning packaging. I also have a review on this palette and swatches here if you are interested.

Moving on to eyes. I have been testing the new brow collection from Benefit Cosmetics for a while now and the two products that really stood out to me are the Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil (RRP $42) and the Gimme Brow Volumizing Eyebrow Gel (RRP $39). Their eyebrow pencil has a special teardrop shape that makes shaping and filling in the brows so easy. I also really enjoy using the Gimme Brow to tame and finish off the eyebrows. It has a light tint to it and it contains tiny microfibres to mimic the look of your natural brow hairs.

You know eyeshadows are my weakness.

The one beautiful palette that I keep going back to is the Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Clay Palette (RRP $69). If you have a hard time choosing in between the two Tartelette palettes, I would go with the Tartelette In Bloom! Personally, I find it more versatile to use. I love the shades in this palette with a range of shimmers and mattes. The texture is smooth, pigmented and easy to blend.

One brand that deserves more love is Nudestix. They have amazing cream eyeshadow pencils that are so easy to blend and they don't budge once they set. Not long ago, I suggested this to my friend, who has oily lids, to try and she loved it! Swatch them in store when you see them, you will love them. They currently have their Christmas set available for purchase - Northern Lights Mini Holiday Kit (RRP $35), I think it is a lovely set to get if you would like to test out the formula

I also highly recommend their lipsticks. I'm not sure if they still have the trio sets available, but my
favourite lipstick from Nudestix is their Lip + Cheek Pencil in Sin. This thing is a little multi-tasker. You can use it as a lip colour or a blush. It has such great colour payoff and it can be easily blended with your fingers. MUCH LOVE!

Now - what am I planning to buy during the sale?

I'm trying to be good, so I only have two items on my wishlist at the moment.

I have been eyeing the two new Zoeva palettes ever since I saw them at the Sephora Showcase back in July - Caramel Melange Palette (RRP $39) and Blanc Fusion Palette (RRP $39). Definitely getting those two to complete my chocolate collection.

Priceline 40% Off Cosmetics Sale Shopping Guide

I DO! :)

Priceline is having a 40% off cosmetics sale from 9 November to 10 November. Yes, it is starting tomorrow! It will be available online and in store.

We all know how overwhelming it is during the sale. Make sure you do your research beforehand and get your wishlist ready because it is always like a war zone! If you are shopping online, I suggest you add everything to the cart prior to the sale. Get your account and payment set up, so you are ready to check out when the clock strikes midnight to avoid any disappointment.

And in case you need some shopping ideas, I have compiled a list of products that I think are worth checking out. Let’s start with eyeshadow, shall we?

Nude By Nature has recently launched a whole collection of new products and I just can’t look past its beautiful rose gold packaging! One thing that really caught my eye is the Natural Wonders Eyeshadow Palette* (RRP $49.95). I have never tried their eye products before, so naturally getting a palette is a great way to start. The mattes, especially the blue shades, were a bit dry and chalky to work with. I had to layer the dark blue shadow to get the swatch below. However, the shimmers are BOMB, very smooth with great pigmentation. So overall, I would say this is still a decent palette.

Nude By Nature Natural Wonders Eyeshadow Palette

If you are a cream eyeshadow fan, you NEED to try the Revlon Photoready Eye Art Lid Line Lash (RRP $21.95)! It is a cream shadow and glitter liner duo, which is perfect for creating some fun and festive eye looks. Give it a swatch when you see it in store, I promise you will be amazed by how pigmented, metallic and wet the eyeshadow looks.

Moving onto cheeks. Quite a few brands have launched cheek palettes this year and you know I must give the Rimmel Kate Sculpting Palette* a mention. I have been completely hooked ever since I got it. I especially love the highlight and blush shade, they give you a soft glow and rosy cheeks. Perfect for everyday.

On the other hand, if you looking for an in-your-face highlight, definitely check out Physicians Formula. They make some of my favorite drugstore highlights. I have recently picked up the Powder Palette Mineral Glow Pearls* (RRP $29.95) in Light Bronze Pearl, which is a beautiful warm gold. After seeing it on Ash's Instagram (@thebeautycollection - this girl has an amazing account), I knew I had to have it. I think I will be picking up a lighter shade during the sale this time.

And I cannot not talk about the oh-so-popular Murumuru Butter Bronzer* (RRP $29.95) from Physicians Formula. It's been all over YouTube and social media since its launch and I can definitely see why. On me, it is too light to contour with, but I can totally see it work on people with lighter skin tone than me. I use it like a traditional bronzer to warm up my complexion like the sun just kissed my face. It has finally hit our shore after the long wait. So why not take advantage of the sale and see if the hype is real?

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Sculpt Trio in 102 Nude Beige and 201 Soft Rosy

One of the new trends developed in 2016 was draping, which is said to be the "new contouring". It is basically contouring using just blush. L'Oreal Paris has quickly picked up on this trend by releasing the Infallible Blush Sculpt Trio* (RRP $26.95). It is currently only available in two shades. The formula is quite shimmery and pigmented, I think they can totally double up as eyeshadows.

Lipsticks! Yes!

I think the lipstick department in the drugstore is definitely winning at the moment. I have some new and old discoveries to share today. First, let's have a look at some traditional lipsticks. Rimmel has absolutely been killing it lately with all the new products and the Lasting Finish Kate Anniversary Lipsticks* (RRP $13.95) do not disappoint. Not only it has a stunning packaging, the formula is also very creamy, pigmented and non-drying. My favourite shade is surprisingly 53 Retro Red - a beautiful plum red.

The Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet (RRP $24) is a recent discovery for me. I have no idea why it took me so long to try it, but it is easily one of my favourite liquid lipstick formulas. It has a lightly whipped, moussey texture that is pigmented and non-drying. My raisin lips like how it doesn't set completely like some other liquid lipsticks (hint: it is not transfer proof).

And now, last but not least, we have lip lacquers. My two most worn formulas have to be NYX Intense Butter Gloss* (RRP $12.95) and Maybelline Color Sensational Color Elixir (RRP $17.95). These are nothing new, but they are some great staples I like to keep. Both of the formulas are very pigmented, glossy and easy to wear. Don't make me choose because they are equally good. These are definitely something I would throw on on a day-to-day basis, especially when I am running short on time to do a perfect lip with lipsticks.
